Working under pressure
After stepping down from my previous role as General Manager, I transitioned into a more methodical and structured position as a patient coordinator for a medical imaging clinic based in Miami, Florida. My primary responsibility was to schedule appointments for MRIs and CT scans across three different locations, ensuring alignment with physician availability, insurance approvals, and exam-specific requirements. The role demanded a high level of attention to detail, organisation, and clear communication—especially when navigating medical procedures and insurance protocols.
As the first point of contact for the clinic via phone and email, I managed both cold and warm calls, predominantly interacting with patients aged 50 and above. Empathy and assertiveness were essential, as I was often speaking with individuals navigating sensitive health situations. I was expected to resolve concerns or redirect them to the appropriate department swiftly, while maintaining efficiency and professionalism—especially under time-tracked performance metrics. The experience strengthened my ability to remain calm, clear, and supportive in high-responsibility, service-oriented environments.
